Note: If you are also getting a custom website design, we will want to create the logo first. We highly recommend establishing a logo that will brand your company and help make it memorable. However, if you are on a tight budget, we can sometimes integrate your organization name into the website design nicely without a stand-alone logo.
These examples are a starting point to help illustrate what we’re thinking when we use terms such as corporate, old world, arty, etc. There aren’t really clean divisions between these categories. Most of the logos could fall into several categories.

Corporate logos are simple, bold and and communicate strength. They don’t necessarily illustrate what a company does. They are basic trademarks that come to symbolize a company even if they are start as a somewhat arbitrary choice.
Text-only logos are a challenge to keep unique because most fonts are so widely used. But it can provide a nice literary or legal look. Or if you want something more arty, a handwritten or arty font can look very unique.
These are have a classic rich feel and also have real longevity.
Fun and beautiful.
Whimsical logos, when they’re based on illustrations take more time and more budget are more unique than any other type of logo.
The challenge with arty logos is finding a balance between artistic complexity and the simplicity necessary for a memorable brand.
